hey!!! surprise surprise! i've no idea i'll be back again. heh was supposed to go fo(3) tang (2) to celebrate vesak day this morning... then my teacher told me i didn't have to go coz my dad was on the way to the camp. for a moment i tot he was joking... ahh obviously he wasn't since i'm already at home typing this... heh
anyway the days passed rather quickly.... it's already about 54 days! i still remember day 1 when i stepped into the camp. totally lost. spoke very little ... for obvious reasons. it's much much better now, got to know lots of chinese from other companies, and more malays and indians are speaking to me in english =) and i'm proud to say that i've picked up quite a bit of malays words. yay!
lots of things happened since my last entry... dunno where to begin too! heh some days are really fun, most are boring. heh
fun days include:
- 'swimming' in the lake... '...' becoz i won't really count dipping in the water while wearing a lifejacket swimming. heh at first the idea of going into the water wasn't very appealing coz of its colour.... yellowish brown... but i'm glad i did lah. it was fun =)
- kayaking! i'm entering some inter-camp kayaking competition... gee. a bit nervous actually. playing single! and the training sessions are like... slack. we just row in whatever way we like, the teachers did not exactly teach us the correct was of rowing... hmmmmmm.
- cross country... heh ahhh the distance was rather short, but it was pretty tiring coz we ran uphill for 1/3 of the whole route. i wonder if my legs are toner now, since we have to walk uphill almost everyday... ah and i did singapore proud! hahaha came in 2nd for the girls race =)
a teacher gave me a soft-toy, which my little niece conveniently grabbed it and refused to return it back to me hahahaha
- absailing! ah this was damn fun, rather scary at first... the feeling of being suspended in the air with only a few ropes supporting you .... oooohhhh....
- some obstacle course thingy... we have to wear our full army attire including the heavy boots... run uphill for about 100m, jump across this hurdle-like thingy, cross this shaking plank, lose your balance n then u'll drop into the water, climb over a 6 feet wall, cross the monkey bar, lose your grip n again u'll drop into the water, swing from one end to the other end using a rope, wrong techinique n u'll drop into the water too, and then lastly... crawl on tbe sandy ground. heh intra-camp competition coming up! hope we'll do well.
- marching... not exactly fun... but when the whole company is neat, u feel a sense of accomplishment, especially for pple like me who is not exactly familiar with commands in malay...
- a trip to the 'fo tang' every sunday... we sing songs, eat really good vegetarian food, play childish games like the hunter, squirrel, fire game...
- certain community service outing. went to the padi field a few weeks ago! helped to harvest a LITTLE bit of rice heeheehee so fun. shall post a couple of pics the next time. the photos r still in camp
boring days...
- taekwondo. imagine sitting on the ground on a hot sunny day, you feel like your butt is about to become cooked. argh, and the strokes are repetitive...... ahhh. nah, don't like.
- days when they talk and talk and talk... lessons on first aid, how to read the compass, what to do in cases of emergency, blah blah blah ... coz i don't even understand a single thing. BOO.
- lessons.... similary to ... national education? social studies? yucks. 2 1/2 hours each day, five days a week. all i do is sleep or stone. no wonder i'm growing fat.
alright, i shall continue another day...
meeting a couple of frens in a while...
byeeEee!
